New England Patriots (9-4) at Indianapolis Colts (7-6)

Saturday, December 18, 8:15PM ET

In the second half of the season, the Indianapolis Colts have developed into quite the competitive squad. That success has been largely driven by Jonathan Taylor but saying that they’re not a well-rounded team would be a lie.

With all of that said, I simply can’t pick against the New England Patriots right now. They’ve been arguably the best team down the stretch, led by efficient play from rookie quarterback Mac Jones and downright dominance from their defense. There’s no way the Colts muster enough offense against this Patriots D on Saturday to stay ahead on the scoreboard.

The Colts won’t allow this to turn into a blowout, though. Whether it’s Taylor or Carson Wentz, Indianapolis will find a way to produce points despite the Patriots’ defensive prowess. It might not be much, but it’ll be enough to at least keep things interesting.

Ultimately, the Patriots get the win due in large part to their defense. New England forces at least two turnovers and gets a few sacks, keeping the Colts from ever building enough momentum to topple the red-hot Patriots.

Prediction: Patriots win 25-16 | Spread: Colts (-2.5)
