The Houston Texans are prepping for a total reset in the 2022 offseason. We look at a Texans 2022 mock draft scenario with a Deshaun Watson trade.

The 2022 offseason is going to be a wild one for the Houston Texans. The team hasn’t exactly “wasted” the 2021 season, but it’s about as close you can get in terms of roster development.

The Texans have very few, if any, building blocks for the future of this team currently on the roster. What players can they legitimately say are true core pieces of the foundation moving forward?

General manager Nick Caserio has the right guy at head coach for the time being in David Culley to really help the Texans transition through some dark years.

Houston Texans looking to a future without Deshaun Watson

So what does the future hold for DeShaun Watson and the Houston Texans? Watson went from being an NFL MVP candidate and franchise superstar to having one of the more cloudy futures of any player in the league. The allegations against Watson have prevented him from being traded up to this point, but in the 2022 offseason, that seems likely to change.

The question right now is, where will he go? The reports have been that Watson will not play anywhere but Miami with the Dolphins, but who knows how much time will change things in that regard?

As time goes along, I think Watson will expand his list, and I think we could see an intriguing potential trade partner for him on the horizon. If Watson is traded in the 2022 offseason, where will he land? What kind of draft haul will the Houston Texans get? What would the Texans do with the picks they receive?
