NFL 25 Dream Teams that ended up being failures: 20. 2009 Tennessee Titans

The 2008 Tennessee Titans were that weird team that watched a graying Kerry Collins lead them to a 13-win season. They kept him and Vince Young for the 2009 season, hoping they could build off the magic of the year prior while also having a good backup plan. They probably should have gone to the backup plan earlier. The Titans started the season 0-6 before finally going to Young.

Young actually went on a ridiculous run, winning eight of his final ten games, but it was too late. The Titans went from the number-one seed to missing the playoffs. There was a lot more behind the hype. They have Chris Johnson, better known as CJ2K. He had 2,000 yards this season, but the Titans couldn’t win games despite this.

The nadir of the season came in that sixth loss of the season. They went to New England and got taken to town. With the snow coming down, the Patriots  put up 59 points on the Titans while the other team scored zero. It was the worst shutout in regular season history.

The Titans tried with Vince Young again the next season, but as you know, that was the last one he had with the Titans. It was the last great moment of his Titans career before it all went bad again. This season, however, was bad from the start. It was supposed to be a good collection of superstar tools, but instead it was a mismash at the beginning that put them in a hole they couldn’t recover from.
