2022 NFL Free Agency: Players most likely to leave NFC South

Atlanta Falcons: Hayden Hurst, TE

Trading a second-round pick for Hayden Hurst didn’t exactly work out for the Atlanta Falcons.

Kyle Pitts is the future at the position for them, and Hurst is probably not going to re-sign to be Pitts’ backup.

Carolina Panthers: Stephon Gilmore, CB

The Carolina Panthers have been swinging for the fences with some big trades this year, but the fruit has not come in terms of wins instead of losses.

Stephon Gilmore is a good player but on the wrong side of 30. I think he’ll sign with a contender in 2022 as the Panthers make Jaycee Horn and CJ Henderson their top duo of the future.

New Orleans Saints: Marcus Williams, S

The Saints were able to keep Williams on the franchise tag this past year, somewhat miraculously.

At this point, I would not put any sort of salary cap gymnastics out of the question here, but Williams could be the odd man out with some other prominent free agents for the Saints this coming offseason, namely Jameis Winston, Terron Armstead, and Tre’quan Smith.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: OJ Howard, TE

Similar to David Njoku, it feels like the Buccaneers missed an opportunity to just trade OJ Howard for something decent.

I think with his talent level, Howard should be one of the best tight ends in the NFL and perhaps all he needs is a change of scenery.
