3. Ed Dodds, Assistant General Manager, Indianapolis Colts

Ed Dodds is another person who will be popular this offseason. He’s been Chris Ballard’s right-hand man since 2017. Before that, he spent 10 years with the Seattle Seahawks, building a Super Bowl roster and the most dominating defenses in the league.

Many people around the league have great respect for Dodds’ talent evaluation. He started going to interviews last offseason with the Detroit Lions and the Carolina Panthers. Expect him to interview for many more this offseason.

Dodds is in a nice position with the Colts. He could be choosy in what other job he’d want. Being Ballards’ top guy, he could be the heir apparent. Because of that, he could want to go to a team like the Bears, who are looking for a complete rebuild. He’d get his head coach and he’ll have a roster he can completely overhaul in a quick period of time.

With his experience helping Ballard do just that, Dodds would love the opportunity to strike out on his own and do the same.
