NFL picks and score predictions for Week 17 with the 2021 season nearing its end.

It’s almost here. We’ve only got two weeks left before the NFL playoffs begin, and it’s sure to be an insane couple of weeks. For now, though, let’s turn our attention to the upcoming slate of games and what they could bring as the playoff picture comes into focus.

We’ve got you covered with the Week 17 edition of NFL picks and score predictions. As always, I’ll never claim to know what the future holds. As it turns out, odds are high at least a few of my picks will be completely wrong. I will, however, make my selections based on research, experience, and careful consideration.

Every week, it seems making these predictions becomes more of a strain. However, I’m not too upset with what came from this past weekend. My Week 16 NFL picks resulted in a 10-6 record, moving my overall record on the year to 154-90-1. The end of 2021 is near, but I’m content with how things have played out so far this season.

Just remember that making picks is not a science. Plenty of research goes into it, but there’s no crystal ball — craziness occurs every Sunday. Then again, isn’t that part of the fun of it all?

Now that we’ve gotten all of that out of the way, here are my NFL picks and score predictions for Week 17. Just keep in mind that I assume no responsibility if you choose to place wagers based on my picks — that’s your decision, not mine.

NFL Picks and predictions for Week 17 of the 2021 season

Philadelphia Eagles (8-7) at Washington Football Team (6-9)

Sunday, January 2, 1PM ET

I know. I’ll probably regret this decision. But I’m going with the Washington Football Team to pull off the upset against their division rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles. Crazier things have happened this season, and I’m sure Washington would love to throw a wrench in the works.

Plus, it’s not like the Football Team is out of it just yet. They’re technically still in the hunt, but would need a lot  of help to get to the postseason. While I don’t necessarily think that’ll happen, they can hurt the Eagles’ odds of extending their season to pulling off the upset at home.

It’s not like Washington has been a pushover this year. Yes, they’re coming off one of the biggest beatdowns we’ve seen this season, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that they’re a quality team. If they can get going early and knock Jalen Hurts off his game, it’s definitely possible D.C. shocks the football world with a big win.

Philadelphia will do whatever they can to taste victory here, but I’m predicting that won’t be the case. Instead, the Washington defense steps up in crunch time and creates three turnovers, allowing their offense to put up just enough points to squeak by with the win.

Prediction: Washington wins 27-24 | Spread: Eagles (-3.5)
