2022 NFL Mock Draft: Cowboys take unexpected offensive weapon
By Randy Gurzi
27. Arizona Cardinals: Drake Jackson, EDGE, USC
One Drake from USC deserves another.
Drake London just went to the Tennessee Titans a couple of picks ago and now, Drake London joins the Arizona Cardinals. The edge rusher is a lengthy 6-foot-4 and 250-pounds. He also possesses the ability to rush from a two-point stance which is what his role would be in Arizona.
They could lose Chandler Jones who is a free agent and Markus Golden has been inconsistent for much of his career. Jackson’s addition would help them replace either if they needed to.
28. Dallas Cowboys: Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State
At first glance, the Dallas Cowboys taking a wide receiver sounds preposterous. But when you dig deeper, you can see it might be something worth considering.
Dallas currently has Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, and Michael Gallup who are all considered No. 1 wideouts. However, Gallup is set for free agency as is Cedrick Wilson, who is the player that seems capable of replacing Gallup. If they did lose both, wide receiver is suddenly not so deep and even one injury — and they have had multiple this season — could make things hard on their offense.
With all that being said, Dallas elects to take Jahan Dotson at No. 28, giving them yet another dynamic playmaker. Dotson can do things that others on the Cowboys roster can’t and his ability to turn a short pass into a big gain will make him an instant favorite for Dak Prescott.
