3. EDGE. Oregon. Kayvon Thibodeaux. player. 31. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

3. New York Giants: Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon

With Detroit taking Aidan Hutchinson at No. 2, that leaves the door open for the New York Giants to select Kayvon Thibodeaux at No. 3. New York is in need of an overhaul all over the field — and on the sideline but they seem content with Joe Judge for some reason — and Thibodeaux offers them a defensive centerpiece to build around.

He’s arguably the best pure pass rusher in this class and the Giants haven’t had a guy who can take over a game in that role since the days of Jason Pierre-Paul. Adding Thibodeaux would make everyone’s job on the Giant’s defense easier since it would give the opposing quarterback less time to pick them apart.

Ole Miss. 4. 10. Matt Corral. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. QB

4. Houston Texans: Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss

This offseason, the Houston Texans need to figure out how to put the Deshaun Watson drama behind them. They tried to simply keep him benched in 2021 but that did nothing to eliminate distractions. It’s also hard for them to truly move on while there are questions about what will happen with him.

Assuming they do finally pull the trigger on a trade, their next question will be if they want to use this pick on a quarterback or roll with Davis Mills. While Mills has had some solid moments, there’s no reason to just turn the offense over to him — which is why Matt Corral is the pick in this mock.

Corral is able to beat teams with his arm and legs and while he might not be the playmaker Watson is, he would be an upgrade over Mills and Tyrod Taylor.
