FanDuel DFS NFL Week 17 picks and lineup advice: Running Back

Your main goal this week when building lineups should be fitting Jonathan Taylor ($10000) into as many as possible. With two players on this slate over $10,000, there will likely be a pretty strong division between lineups based on which one you choose to play.

I will confidently be playing Taylor in more lineups than Kupp, as we know he will see his usual 25 plus rushing attempts with a few targets in the passing game. He also carries more upside than Kupp for tournaments, as if one of them is to put up a three-touchdown game it will be Taylor.

When you also consider he gets a fantastic matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, $10000 may be too cheap.

While I do like the matchup for Austin Ekeler ($9000), I do fear he will lose double-digit touchdowns to Justin Jackson, who performed admirably in Ekeler’s absence.

Joe Mixon ($8500) is my favorite tournament play this week, as I think the Bengals will be looking to establish the run against a Chiefs defense that has been quite vulnerable recently. With his touchdown upside always present, I think Mixon is a great pivot off of Taylor in tournaments and could be a deadly combo with Taylor if you can pay up for both.

D’Andre Swift ($7700) is also a very interesting play against a poor Seattle run defense in his first game back in over a month. With Tim Boyle under center, look for plenty of dump-offs and a potentially big volume game for Swift as the centerpiece of the Lions’ offense.

Finally, among the middle priced running backs, Ronald Jones II ($7000) is way too cheap against a historically terrible Jets defense and should easily pay off this salary, especially with Mike Evans and Antonio Brown looking questionable.

There are still plenty of cheap running backs that I like this week, with Jeff Wilson Jr. ($6700) being one of my favorites assuming Elijah Mitchell sits. The 49ers will look to keep the ball on the ground with their rookie quarterback making the start, and while Wilson Jr. will cede touches to Deebo Samuel and Lance, I still like him as a volume play this week.

Finally, if their respective starters are out, Darrell Williams ($6200) and Boston Scott ($6000) should both be very strong volume plays at their prices, especially Williams who has performed in the past in CEH’s absence.
