2. Derek Carr (Las Vegas Raiders)

With no guaranteed money left on his contract and Jon Gruden obviously no longer with the Raiders organization, it will be fascinating to see what happens with Derek Carr in the 2022 offseason.

Carr is a better quarterback than I think he’s given credit, though he’s certainly capable of throwing up some clunkers every now and again.

He’s hovering below the “elite” tier at the position but what Carr brings to the table on a weekly basis is probably preferable right now to what Mayfield brings, and Carr is also the type of personality that could really galvanize this Browns team after all of the drama with Odell Beckham Jr. and now Mayfield.

Carr is a veteran and whether the Browns and Raiders would come together on a trade involving both Carr and Mayfield remains to be seen, but you would have to think that in order to move on from Mayfield, the Browns would have to have a solid upgrade in place and Carr would represent that.

I think with Carr under center and Stefanski calling the shots offensively, the Browns’ offense would really take that next step in 2022.
