1. Kirk Cousins trade (Minnesota Vikings)

The number one possible option for the Cleveland Browns, should they move on from Baker Mayfield, could very well be to trade for Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings.

Cousins and Kevin Stefanski worked together in Minnesota after Cousins signed a massive free agent contract back in the 2018 offseason, and they had plenty of success together including winning a playoff game in the 2019 season before Stefanski bolted for Cleveland.

In their final season together, Stefanski and Cousins led the 8th-ranked scoring offense in the NFL and Cousins is coming off of a 30-touchdown, seven-interception season.

Still, in Cousins’ time with the Vikings, the team has not had the type of success they anticipated. Cousins has had individual statistical success, but the Vikings are basically a .500 team since Stefanski left.

Reuniting Cousins with Stefanski could be on the docket for the Browns as the Vikings may be motivated to trade Cousins and his massive 2022 salary.

If the Browns are willing to take it on and the Vikings are interesting in taking Baker Mayfield’s salary back as well, this could really work out for all parties.

Cousins may not prefer Cleveland but being paired up with Stefanski again might excite him.
