3. Xavier Woods, safety

In the 2021 offseason, the Vikings made the decision to let safety Anthony Harris walk in free agency, a decision that was probably not overly well-received by Vikings fans.

In letting Harris walk, the Vikings also watched him sign for a very reasonable price in Philadelphia with the Eagles.

Instead, the Vikings also signed a free agent bargain of their own, snatching safety Xavier Woods away from the Dallas Cowboys for one year, only $1.75 million.

He proved to be one of the better value signings of the 2021 offseason, racking up 101 tackles in Mike Zimmer’s defense with three interceptions, 10 passes broken up, two forced fumbles, and a sack.

His productivity this past season was outstanding and you can’t help but wonder if the Vikings won’t try to sign him to a long-term extension.

The former sixth-round pick out of Louisiana Tech will only be 27 years old this coming season and as well as he played in Mike Zimmer’s defense over the course of the 2021 season, he could very well follow Zimmer to his next destination and make bank while doing so.
