5. Baker Mayfield (Browns, Trade)

The Packers could try and make a huge splash if, indeed, Aaron Rodgers moves on after the 2021 season.

Baker Mayfield’s time with the Cleveland Browns could be coming to an end. Although that may not seem overly likely, Mayfield is entering his fifth NFL season and his contract for 2022 is fully guaranteed for injury.

Still, that cap figure is easily tradeable for the Browns, and perhaps Mayfield going to LaFleur’s offense could benefit him as he moves forward in his career. Obviously, things are not working out with Mayfield and Kevin Stefanski.

Mayfield played through injury in 2021 and paid the price in a variety of ways. His value, in a lot of ways, has never been lower than it is right now.

For that reason alone, it’s hard to know whether the Browns would really pull the trigger on trading for him, especially without an alternative in place.

If the Browns decide they are moving on from Mayfield and the Packers have to deal with life beyond Aaron Rodgers, this could be an intriguing one-year experiment for Green Bay.
