Christian McCaffrey trading partner No. 1: Miami Dolphins

Another young quarterback who could benefit from the addition of Christian McCaffrey is Tua Tagovailoa from the Miami Dolphins. The former first-round pick has a record of 12-8 as a starter while completing 66.2 percent of his passes in his first two seasons.

He was also a part of their big run this season when they won seven games in a row, momentarily getting back in the playoff race. Having said that, this offense can still be very stagnant with Tua under center – and he has missed a good bit of time with various injuries.

In his career, he has just 26 touchdown passes against 15 picks while already missing 10 games. For what it’s worth, the Dolphins front office has proven they will be aggressive when it comes to adding talent around their quarterback. This was evident in their draft moves in 2021, which ended with Jaylen Waddle re-joining his former collegiate teammate.

With that being the case, they could also be all about adding a running back who can help increase his production. In 58 career games, McCaffrey has 357 receptions for 3,015 yards with 17 touchdowns. On the ground, he’s added another 3,587 yards and 30 touchdowns.

That could be the missing piece for a team that’s proven to be very close to breaking out. The only question is if they feel comfortable taking a flier on another player with injury concerns.
