17. Pittsburgh Steelers: Desmond Ridder, QB, Cincinnati

There might not be any other player in the 2022 NFL Draft that has as many people split as Desmond Ridder. There are those who think he can be a great NFL player and some who think he will be a major bust. Looking at his numbers against Alabama could lead to the belief that he can’t cut it against elite defenses, but that’s not how it went.

Ridder was 17-of-32 for 144 yards with no touchdowns but he was throwing dimes. The problem is, many of them were dropped. In that game, he still showed off his talent and that should lead to him being a Round 1 pick.

Here, he lands with the Pittsburgh Steelers who need to replace Ben Roethlisberger — who had an emotional final game at Heinz Field. His shoes will be tough to fill and neither Mason Rudolph nor Dwayne Haskins should be the ones to do so.

18. Las Vegas Raiders: Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama

Hunter Renfrow has been a beast this season for the Las Vegas Raiders. Since they lost Henry Ruggs, he’s become the No. 1 guy and has done it all. However, if the Raiders offense wants to get better, they need another wideout who can stretch the field.

Enter Jameson Williams from Alabama. He ended up surpassing John Metchie as the No. 1 guy for the Tide following his transfer from Ohio State. That performance was enough to get him taken in the opening round as Vegas lands themselves a playmaker.
