Dallas Cowboys studs and duds: Dak Prescott shines in record-setting night

Dallas Cowboys stud: Dak Prescott
There will be those who say it happened against backups but that doesn’t matter. Dak Prescott had a career night on Sunday as he was 21-of-27 for 295 yards with a personal-best five touchdown passes. He also set a franchise record as he threw his 37th touchdown of the season, topping Tony Romo’s record by one.
Prescott said if the Eagles were playing reserves he would have to thank them as it would allow them to get their offense humming. After watching him operate, it’s safe to say he did exactly that and now heads into the playoffs with a ton of confidence.
Dallas Cowboys stud: Coaching staff
If any of the starting players for Dallas wound up injured in this one, the Cowboys’ coaching staff would have been blasted. But they still would have made the right call.
Playoff football is all about which team can get healthy and hot. Outside of Michael Gallup, this Dallas team is fairly healthy but they were anything but hot entering the game.
They had just come off a three-point loss to the Arizona Cardinals in a game where they just couldn’t get things rolling. Due to this, Mike McCarthy decided to play his starters for the majority of the game and they did get things clicking to the tune of 51-points.
It was a smart move and gave them the momentum and confidence they needed.
