Denver Broncos likely HC candidates for 2022

3. Kellen Moore, OC, Cowboys

To fix their dismal offense, it would make sense for the Denver Broncos to target the guy in charge of calling plays for the top-ranked offense in the NFL.

Kellen Moore has done an outstanding job with the Cowboys as the backup quarterback, quarterbacks coach, and now offensive coordinator.

What Moore has done exceptionally well in Dallas is find ways to get all of his weapons involved in the offense week-to-week, something that will be essential in Denver.  Pat Shurmur, the incumbent offensive coordinator for the Broncos, has done a miserable job the last two seasons at highlighting the team’s offensive talent.

Of course, Shurmur is not the one out there firing passes, but the way he utilized players like Courtland Sutton, Noah Fant, Jerry Jeudy, and others in the 2021 season was absolutely atrocious.

A play caller like Moore would be a godsend for the Broncos, but they need more than just play-caller. Moore will have to present a compelling case for himself and what kind of staff he would assemble in Denver and he would also have to prove that he can be the leader the Broncos need with Vic Fangio moved on.
