New York Giants HC candidate no. 3. Marcus Brady, OC, Indianapolis Colts

Search and you find a lot of NFL media talking about Marcus Brady. Maybe it’s because he’s just one year into his duties as an offensive coordinator. However, this isn’t his first go-round as a coordinator. Okay, to be fair, it was in the CFL where he spent six as an offensive coordinator. He joined the Colts coaching staff in 2018 as a quarterbacks coach.

In his short time as an OC, Brady showed how versatile he can be. Imagine him bringing that as a head coach. He’s someone who understands how to adjust to the players on the roster.

That’s what he did to get the best out of Carson Wentz. Brady shifted the Colts to a run-heavy offense. With Phillip Rivers, former offensive coordinator turned head coach, Nick Sirianni (Eagles). In 2021, under Brady, Jonathan Taylor ran himself into the MVP conversation as the run percentage increased to 49.5%.

Brady’s run offensive allows his quarterback to take shots down the field off play action. He’s an offensive-minded coach who could help Saquon Barkley reach the next level (if healthy). No matter who the quarterback is, it’s safe to say he’ll get the best out of him.
