NFL 2022 offseason, Quarterback #2: Deshaun Watson

Now, before people go crazy, just listen. Big Ben Roethlisberger got a second chance after what he went through near the start of his career. With the similar things Deshaun Watson is going through, why can’t he get a second chance?

Both have made questionable and scumbag choices, but if Ben gets a second chance, Watson should too. The talent is there and Watson is a winner.

For starters, Watson is done as a Texan. There is no point in even trying to rekindle things between Watson and the organization. Maximize what can be gained in a Watson trade and keep moving forward.

Watson has the 2nd highest QBR in NFL history next to Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes. There is no denying his talent. A team just has to give him that second chance and they won’t regret it. It may sound a little too weird with the situations, but Watson to the Steelers would be great for the NFL.

One, Deshaun Watson is one of the most talented players in the entire NFL. Him being on the field every Sunday is good for business. Second, Big Ben is on the verge of retirement. The Steelers still have their defense and they have a boatload of weapons on offense.

Najee Harris just came off a rookie season in which he achieved 1200 rushing yards, 94 targets, 74 receptions, and 467 receiving yards. Finishing as the RB3, with a quarterback upgrade, Najee will still be a top-five RB.

The receivers of the Steelers is where this will transpire to be a thing of beauty. My hot take for the 2022 fantasy season is that Diontae Johnson will be a top 5 WR, especially with a quarterback upgrade like Deshaun Watson. Johnson was third in targets this season and finished as the WR8 with an aging Big Ben.

Chase Claypool would thrive the most as he would have one of the best deep throwers in the NFL throwing him the ball now. Claypool is a big play receiver and having a grandpa throw him the ball all of 2021 made his season disappointing.
