6. Best coaching hire for the Houston Texans: Brian Flores, former Miami Dolphins head coach

In a shocking move, the Houston Texans cleaned house. They officially relieved head coach David Culley and offensive coordinator Tim Kelly of their duties.

Defensive coordinator Lovie Smith is likely up next. It’s a bit surprising given the Texans came into the 2021 NFL Season with a ton of controversy and very little expectations. Culley did the best he could with Tyrod Taylor and Davis Mills at quarterback. His defense didn’t fare well either, though some guys made a name for themselves.

Brian Flores (40) can come in and turn things around for the Texans the same way he did for the Miami Dolphins. In his first year with the Fins, he went 5-11.

That roster was worse than the current Texans roster.

He went on to have a back-to-back winning season for the first time in two decades for that franchise.

More importantly, the Texans’ vacancy is the perfect opening to make Deshaun Watson happy. Allegedly, Watson wanted to play for the Fins because of Flores. Why not Bring Flores in and keep Watson with the Texans?
