5. Best coaching hire for the Jacksonville Jaguars: Byron Leftwich, Offensive Coordinator, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Urban Meyer was another college football coach who failed in the NFL. The epic collapse left a sour taste in fans’ mouths, especially given how he hindered rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Bringing in an offensive-minded head coach makes sense for the Jaguars. Why not bring in a beloved former Jaguar, Byron Leftwich?

In his stint as an offensive coordinator, Leftwich showed he’s capable of adapting. He received praise for his play-calling and ability to adjust.

With Tom Brady, he tweaked Bruce Arians’ high-powered shot taking offense. Now, they use the middle of the field to exploit defenses. He incorporated more play-action, which opened up the field for Brady.

James Robinson and Travis Ettienne make up the backfield of the Jags. Leftwich will use the duo to take pressure off his young quarterback. Players like DJ Chark, Laviska Shenault Jr., and Marvin Jones will make life easier for Lawrence and fit well in Leftwich’s scheme.

This hire is too perfect not to happen.
