Wide Receiver. Jameson Williams. player. 829. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Alabama. 1

One thing is clear about the Raiders and their front office and that is that they love speed. On this roster alone they had two speedy receivers in Henry Ruggs and DeSean Jackson. Obviously, Ruggs has been cut from the Raiders and Jackson is clearly aging and isn’t the same game-breaking DeSean Jackson that he used to be, which makes Jameson Williams a perfect fit for this Raiders team.

Before the season started, Williams wasn’t near the top of many people’s draft boards, let alone one of the top receivers in the draft. Despite not being considered a top draft prospect, Williams quickly rose up draft boards with his elite-level speed and quality route running ability. Williams would prove this on one of the biggest stages of them all as he helped Bama defeat Cinnincati in the CFB playoffs, despite being without his receiving partner in John Metchie.

Not only will the Raiders be snagging a valuable player in Williams, but they will be addressing a need as well. Of course, they will be getting a deep option back on their roster, but they don’t have any other high-quality receivers on this roster.

Despite having the ability to take the top off any defense, there are some concerns surrounding Williams. Williams is a bit on the thin side of things, and some may criticize the fit with him and Carr, but with Carr possibly not coming back, the fit may work regardless. Even if Carr does stay, it will give him a weapon to throw the deep ball to

A more recent concern around Willians is his torn ACL that he suffered CFB championship game. While this will mean that Williams might miss training camp, it might be worth it to take him regardless, especially with how talented he is.

Other Players Considered: Jahan Dotson, Drake London, Trent McDuffie
