Chicago Bears HC candidate: Brian Daboll

Brian Daboll is one of the hottest head-coaching candidates on the circuit today. He has the number one passing attack in the league and ranks at the top in points scored and yards as well.

After watching the offense put up 47 points against the Patriots in the Wild Card game, his popularity is sure to rise. The offense amassed 482 total yards and 7 touchdowns.

Daboll has coached with the Patriots (two different stints), New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, Chiefs, and Bills. He also spent a season coaching with Nick Saban in Alabama.

Against the Patriots, Daboll’s Bills had a nearly perfect game. They had no punts and no turnovers. They scored on every drive except for the last one when they just took a knee. The only trouble they had in the game was two missed PATs.

I’m sure that Daboll brought a film of this game to his interview. That was one of the most dominant performances in NFL playoff history.

One of the most exciting aspects of having Daboll is his ability to develop Josh Allen. Allen is a dual-threat quarterback. He can throw the ball and also run it. This season, in addition to ranking seventh in touchdown passes and eighth in passing yards, he was Buffalo’s second-leading rusher.

Does that sound like a player you may know? Oh yes, Allen sounds like Justin Fields. Fields has the same abilities as Allen.

Daboll has done an incredible job developing Allen. That really appeals to Bears fans. If he can do the same thing with Fields, it’ll be a new era of winning in Chicago.
