Dallas Cowboys Round 2 pick: Darian Kinnard, G, Kentucky

The Cowboys had issues with penalties on both lines but the ones from Connor Williams seemed to constantly wipe out big plays. They do have Connor McGovern but if he hasn’t taken over for Williams by now, they clearly don’t believe in him.

That’s why they use their first pick on Darian Kinnard from Kentucky. A massive offensive lineman at 6-foot-5 and 345-pounds, Kinnard played tackle for the Wildcats but should be able to kick inside at the next level. For the Cowboys, that means he could be the one to replace Williams and help keep them from being bullied in the middle of the line — and hopefully cut down on their penalties.

Dallas Cowboys Round 3 pick: Tyler Davis, DT, Clemson

In the 2021 NFL Draft, the Cowboys landed a solid contributor in the third round when they landed Osa Odighizuwa from UCLA. The problem is, they still need more talent at the spot — especially since Trysten Hill has yet to take his next step as a professional player.

That’s why they use their third-round pick on Tyler Davis from Clemson. The 6-foot-2, 300-pound Davis was impressive in his freshman season with 45 tackles and 6.5 sacks. He never matched that production in the final two seasons but he has the talent to be part of a rotation on the defensive line.
