Indianapolis Colts: Trade for Jimmy Garoppolo

The Indianapolis Colts move on from Carson Wentz to acquire…

…drum roll…

Jimmy Garoppolo?

Wow, this is some kind of scintillating prediction piece.

Let me explain. Jimmy Garoppolo is about to make it into the NFL’s elite eight for the second time in three years. He and the 49ers seem to have a ton of team success when he is able to stay healthy, and I think his reputation is growing in a positive way around the league.

Yes, he will make some bone-headed decisions throughout the course of almost any given game, but then there are stretches of play that make you wonder — is Garoppolo way better than I thought?

Some team is going to trade for Garoppolo in 2022. Some team is going to give the 49ers something pretty nice for him, too, I’d imagine.

I know the Colts don’t have a 1st-round pick to offer but they might be able to get Jimmy G. for less than that. The Colts and 49ers have come to terms on a blockbuster deal before. Chris Ballard is always in the mood to deal and these two teams came together for the big DeForest Buckner trade.

If the Colts are hellbent on moving on from Carson Wentz, Jimmy Garoppolo might be one of their most realistic 2022 QB scenarios, quite frankly.
