Predicting AFC West QB situations for the 2022 NFL season

Kansas City Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes

What more really needs to be said here?

Mahomes is a game-changer who is going to be exactly that for a very long time. The Chiefs will likely have a standing appointment in the AFC Championship game as long as Mahomes is healthy.

The big question here is — how good can Mahomes yet become?

That is going to be scary to find out.

The best teams can really do against Mahomes and the Chiefs is hope to limit them at this particular point in time. We’ll see as time goes along how Mahomes will adapt as his skill players age out of the offense, but that’s not a present concern for Kansas City.

Travis Kelce is still playing at an elite level, and the secondary options behind Tyreek Hill have stepped up for the Chiefs quite a bit of late.

Kansas City’s quarterback position won’t be up for much of a debate for the next decade.
