Which Denver Broncos free agents could be gone in 2022? We take a look at some pending free agents and possible cap casualties.

The Denver Broncos have already moved on from head coach Vic Fangio. General manager George Paton has a tall task ahead of him and as of this moment in time, he doesn’t have a head coach to build players around.

With that being said, the writing might be on the wall for a number of players already in-house and either slated for free agency or possibly being cap casualties.

Which notable Broncos players could be gone in 2022 regardless of who the head coach is? Let’s take a look at seven guys to have on the radar.

Denver Broncos that won’t be back for the 2022 season

1. Teddy Bridgewater, QB

A quick look at Teddy Bridgewater‘s 2021 statistics might tell you that he was actually pretty great for the Denver Broncos.

After the first three games of the season, however, that wasn’t the case.

Bridgewater was efficient in terms of literally completing passes, but when it came to throwing the ball downfield, converting on third down, converting in the red zone, and distributing the ball to the Broncos’ plethora of playmakers at receiver?

In those regards, Bridgewater fell short. A lot of that blame could also fall on Pat Shurmur, who was horrendous as the Broncos’ offensive coordinator. You can count on one hand the number of times this team scored on its opening drive in the last two years under Shurmur.

Bridgewater had a couple of concussions in 2021, the second of which actually resulted in him being rested for the remainder of the regular season (three full games).

Given his injury history and history of average to below-average play, there’s little doubt he will not be in Denver next year.
