7. New York Giants (via Chicago Bears): Ikem Ekwonu, OT, NC State

With their second pick in this opening round, the New York Giants address their offensive line with the selection of Ikem Ekwonu from North Carolina State. Considered a “mauler” by Oliver Hodgkinson of Pro Football Network, Ekwonu is also praised for his ability to move from tackle to guard.

"“Finally, having played both left tackle and left guard in his NC State career, Ekwonu provides valuable versatility. For me, he has the potential to be the Alijah Vera-Tucker of the 2022 NFL Draft class. By that, I mean he can probably play offensive tackle in the NFL. However, he is far more likely to have a successful career as a potentially exceptional guard at the next level.”"

New York has gotten more from Andrew Thomas as of late and adding Ekwnu gives them some flexibility as he can play across from Thomas or at guard.

Ohio State. Garrett Wilson. WR. 8. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 44

8. Atlanta Falcons: Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State

There are reports that Calvin Ridley and the Atlanta Falcons could be headed for a split and if that’s the case, they should look to add a wide receiver in Round 1. They end up doing just that as they take Garrett Wilson from Ohio State.

Atlanta could consider a quarterback as well but with this class not being “elite” at the position, they elect to go one more season with Matt Ryan and load up on more weapons.
