The Buffalo Bills needed one stop to beat the Chiefs and couldn’t get that. Here are three defensive free agent targets that could help in a similar situation

While everyone is upset about the overtime rules in the NFL — as they should be — the Buffalo Bills cannot look themselves in the mirror and say they lost due to a rule. They lost because their defense couldn’t make a stop with 13 seconds left to play.

If that wasn’t enough, they again couldn’t get a stop in overtime — or at least hold the Kansas City Chiefs to a field goal. Of course, the Chiefs understand because they suffered a similar loss back in 2018 to the New England Patriots.

What they did in response to that was beef up their defense. They didn’t need them to be great but they needed them to do just enough to give them a chance.

Buffalo needs to learn from this and add some talent to put them over the top. With that being the goal, here are three defensive free agents they should target as they look to finally knock off Kansas City in 2022.

Buffalo Bills free agent target No. 3: Foyesade Oluokon, LB

The Atlanta Falcons didn’t have a lot to celebrate this year but they did have a record-setter on defense. Foyesade Oluokon had an unbelievable campaign where he finished with an NFL-record 192 tackles on the season — with 102 being solo.

He also had three interceptions and a forced fumble. And while he blew up this season, he has been putting up big numbers his whole career. In four seasons with Atlanta, he has 462 tackles, five sacks, seven forced fumbles, and five interceptions.

Oluokon is simply always around the ball and the Bills could use his playmaking on their defense.
