3 Dallas Cowboys that benefit most with Dan Quinn returning
By Randy Gurzi
1. Dallas Cowboys LB, Micah Parsons
Not long after it was announced that Dan Quinn was staying with the Cowboys, Micah Parsons took to social media to let it be known that he was excited.
Parsons tweeted a picture of himself, Trevon Diggs, and Quinn with a lion, eagle, and goat emoji to represent each of them.
Parsons has made it no secret that he thinks very highly of his defensive coordinator — and it’s easy to see why. The favorite for NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, Parsons was a complete monster in this defense.
Listed at 6-foot-3 and 245-pounds with insane athleticism, Parsons moved all around for Quinn and was not only the best linebacker for Dallas but he was also their best pass rusher. He moved to defensive end out of necessity early in the season but still moved up to the line at times even when they were healthy up front. This led to him racking up 13 sacks in addition to his 84 tackles and three forced fumbles.
There were plenty of critics when Dallas hired Quinn just as there were those who didn’t think a linebacker was the right way to go at No. 12 in the 2021 NFL Draft. However, both the coach and rookie proved everyone wrong and should only improve in their second season working together.
