In the NFL, there are usually one or more teams to go from worst to first in their division every year, so here are candidates to do that for 2022.

There is a worst to first team nearly every year in the NFL.  In fact, since 2002, only 2014 and 2019 have been years where a team has not gone from worst to first.

The 2022 offseason is set to be a wild one, with the potential for a plethora of quarterbacks to be dealt to different teams.

Many teams are also in a long rebuilding process, while many teams just need a couple more pieces.  You also have teams who should have been much better this year, but injuries and COVID list occupants impacted their performance on the field.

I identified three teams that are most likely to make this leap.  Since there are eight divisions, I think the other last-place teams have a way to go.   The New York Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars are still a few years away, for example, but I would expect a better team for 2022.

Going from worst to first in an ultra-competitive NFL is s serious accomplishment, especially when you look at how many talented teams there have been this year or teams that are missing just a piece or two.

Let’s take a look at the best worst to first candidates for the 2022 season.
