Eagles get their version of Deebo Samuel in 2022 NFL mock draft

19. Philadelphia Eagles: Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas

After taking two defensive players at No. 15 and No. 16, the Philadelphia Eagles are back on the clock at No. 19. This time, they turn their attention to the offense as they snatch up Arkansas wide receiver Treylon Burks.

This will be the third time in as many seasons that Philly takes a wideout but Burks brings something to them that they don’t have at receiver — a massive target who can win 50-50 balls and break tackles. According to Keith Sanchez of The Draft Network, these are areas where the former Razorback shines.

"“When he has the ball in his hands, Burks is a tough tackle for defenders. Burks uses his big frame to power through arm tackles and is rarely brought down by the first defender. Burks also uses his big frame to shield defenders away from the ball and on in-breaking routes. Burke’s most dynamic trait is his natural ability to go up and over defenders to win 50/50 balls. He thrives at contested catches because he has an in-depth understanding of body positioning.” ‚— Sanchez, The Draft Network"

Philly should be prepared to admit Jalen Reagor wasn’t a great pick in Round 1 back in 2020 but their 2021 selection of DeVonta Smith looks to be a legit move. Now adding a big-bodied wideout who moves like a running back after catching the ball should be what this offense needs to take their next step.
