Raiders get much-needed secondary help in 2022 NFL mock draft

Scouting Report. Florida. Kaiir Elam. 22. player. 28. Pick Analysis. CB

22. Las Vegas Raiders: Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida

It looks as though Josh McDaniels is going to be back in the AFC West. Maybe.

There was already one team in the AFC West that he completely destroyed when he was the head coach of the Denver Broncos back in 2009 and 2010 when he was 11-17 and found himself fired following a 3-9 start in year two.

Then back in 2018, the Indianapolis Colts decided it was a good idea to hire the volatile McDaniels and he even brought in some assistants. Then a day or so before he was set to be introduced, he decided he wanted to go back to the Patriots.

So, maybe the Las Vegas Raiders got McDaniels but until he’s actually there coaching, it’s not a done deal. And even when he is, there’s no telling how this thing will go.

There will also be a question about how much control he has in the draft room. He was integral in Denver drafting Tim Tebow which was a mistake. Will he step in there and make a crazy move, or will he trust the people helping him?

If he does put faith in their fellow executives they should end up adding a player such as Kaiir Elam who could help them replace Damon Arnette.
