Packers steal a top playmaker at LB in 2022 NFL mock draft

28. Green Bay Packers: Devin Lloyd, LB, Utah

One of the many teams with some big questions to answer this year is the Green Bay Packers. They have had a ton of success but there’s a chance both Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams could be gone in 2022.

While we can’t predict what happens there, we can try and select the best fit for them in this mock and that could be Devin Lloyd from Utah. Sure, they need offensive help but the Packers have shown recently that they want to build up their defense and trust Matt LaFleur to scheme up their offense.

Lloyd would be an instant starter for them and according to Drae Harris of The Draft Network, he went from a two-down linebacker to someone who can play in every situation while also being able to get home on the pass rush.

"“My initial assessment pegged him as a two-down linebacker, however, he has had some on-the-ball production which has solidified his ability to remain on the field in sub-package situations. In the passing game he can rush from inside or outside, and while he shows some stiffness in space, he can still get depth in his zone drop, come up, and tackle underneath. He has also proven in 2021 that he can get home in pass-rush situations from various alignments.”"

They will surely add more offensive talent in subsequent rounds but this move at least solidifies their defense which will help them not have to expect so much from that side of the ball.
