New York Jets: Khalil Shakir, WR, Boise State

The New York Jets are undoubtedly looking at the San Francisco 49ers as their model for offensive success going forward.

Robert Saleh and many on his staff came from that very successful San Francisco 49ers program, and while you can’t just duplicate players like Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel, and George Kittle, you can certainly find players and put them in comparable positions to succeed.

The Jets need to continue to overhaul their roster and they’re really in year two of a massive rebuild here, but a playmaker at receiver like Khalil Shakir could be a great addition for a team looking for any upgrades in that particular department they can find.

Elijah Moore looks like a definite keeper for the Jets moving forward, but they need more weapons to make sure Zach Wilson’s development is not stunted.

Shakir adding another gear to his explosiveness in 2021 is a fantastic development, and what he already does in the YAC department and when he gets the ball out of the backfield might have the Jets thinking about him as a Deebo Samuel-lite.
