Los Angeles Chargers: Daniel Faalele, OT, Minnesota

The Los Angeles Chargers missed out on the 2021 postseason despite the best efforts of Justin Herbert.

As Herbert converted one fourth down after another against the Las Vegas Raiders, it became abundantly clear where the Chargers’ top need was for the 2022 offseason, at least on the offensive side of the ball: right tackle.

Herbert was getting mauled by pressure off of the right side of the offensive line, and Maxx Crosby ain’t going anywhere anytime soon.

After using a first-round pick on Rashawn Slater last offseason, could we see the Chargers go back-to-back years with an offensive tackle in the first round?

We just might.

Minnesota offensive tackle Daniel Faalele is a 6-foot-8, 380-plus pound behemoth who has the movement skills NFL teams covet in offensive tackle prospects.

Not only is he a mauler in the running game, but Faalele does a good job in pass protection as well and is not clunky or awkward despite his size.

The Chargers could do worse than simply just throwing a guy like Faalele out there and asking Crosby to give him his best.
