Los Angeles Rams X-Factor: Jalen Ramsey

Turnovers can change the momentum in close games. According to NFL.com, the Rams were ranked third in interceptions last season. Their 19 interceptions will make the Bengals think twice when passing the ball. Jalen Ramsey is the key to Kevin O’Connell’s defense. His physicality, athleticism, and play recognition make him a threat in between the lines.

Locking down opponents has become Ramsey’s specialty. Before joining the league in 2016, he was known to be a fierce defender. When the Jacksonville Jaguars drafted Ramsey with the fifth pick in the 2016 draft, their defense improved tremendously.

His 193 tackles with the Jaguars help their defense defend against the run and pass. In 2019, Florida State’s former star decided to seek greener pastures. Joining the Rams organization presented the seven-year veteran with a better chance to become an NFL champion.

Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase are the only two players in the way of Ramsey’s first Super Bowl ring. Cincinnati’s young quarterback and receiver tandem has shredded opposing year-round.

The two have connected on 81 passes during the regular season. Chase’s 1,455 yards receiving was ranked fourth-best in the NFL. Silencing Ja’Marr Chase will be Jalen Ramsey’s mission as Los Angeles attempts to snatch Super Bowl LVI in their home stadium.
