Miami Dolphins 3 Free agents to follow Mike McDaniel from 49ers

Miami Dolphins FA target No. 1: Jeff Wilson, RB
One thing that Mike McDaniels understands is how to get the most out of his running backs. Before becoming the offensive coordinator in 2021, he was the run game coordinator for the Niners and they constantly put up great rushing numbers — even though they often had a revolving door at the position.
In Miami, he will be expected to fix their running game which finished 30th in the NFL with 1,568 yards. As for the 49ers, they were fifth with 2,166 yards — led by Elijah Mitchell who had 963 yards. From there, it was a collection of players who put up yardage and Jeff Wilson was third on the team with 294 yards in just nine games played.
Now a free agent, Wilson could be looking for a new home and Mike McDaniel could be willing to give him a place to continue his career. Not only would Wilson know the playbook McDaniel brings in but he’s had a lot of success, including a 2020 campaign that saw him run for 600 yards and seven touchdowns while averaging 4.8 yards per carry.
That same season, he also added another three scores on receptions, finishing with 10 total touchdowns on the season.
Miami could use such a player as Wilson appears to be one of the better fits on the 49ers offense who is scheduled for free agency.
