NFL 2022: Super Bowl player power rankings

18. Greg Gaines, DL, Rams

The Los Angeles Rams boast one of the best defensive fronts in the entire NFL, and one big reason for that in 2021 is Greg Gaines.

Gaines became a starter this season and responded by racking up 55 total tackles, 13 QB hits, and a career-high 4.5 sacks.

He’s been a standout defender for the Rams in this playoff run, hardly coming off the field and providing a force against the run as well as in the pass rush department.

17. Van Jefferson, WR, Rams

This might seem low for Jefferson, but there are a lot of receivers on this particular list and I certainly wasn’t going to leave him without a mention.

After Robert Woods’ injury this season, Jefferson emerged as Matthew Stafford’s number two target.

He averaged 16 yards per reception and was second on the team behind Cooper Kupp with six receiving touchdowns. He has been an outstanding pickup for the Rams’ offensive attack and although he’s been quiet so far in the 2021-22 NFL playoffs, he is definitely a candidate to come up huge in the Super Bowl.
