Chicago Bears Free Agent Target No.4: DE Kemoko Turay

Who? Yes, it’s a relatively unknown name, but you didn’t think Darius Leonard would just uproot his Indianapolis Colts home and just come to Chicago easily, did you?

No.

The Bears will likely take a player from the Colts, but Kemoko Turay should be on the list of signees.

Going to a 4-3 structure requires new faces and new ideas. At 6’5″, Turay possesses the height for an ideal pass rusher. Moreover, since coming to the Hoosier State out of Rutgers in 2018, Turay has recorded 11.5 sacks.

Again, not someone you throw the kitchen sink at with a hefty contract, but one that can help other players alongside Mack and Quinn adapt to the new scheme.

Turay finished with 5.5 sacks in 2021 and was tutored under Eberflus, his defensive coordinator. Also, he has a relentless work ethic, which is what the Bears need now, given the majority of Matt Nagy’s tenure was highlighted by a lack of discipline and below-average work ethics by a few players.

Turay is the opposite, even though he’s not a big-name guy. Sounds good for the Bears.
