Chicago Bears Free Agent Target No.3: DT Jarran Reed

Given the current cap situation in Kansas City and the emphasis that Patrick Mahomes needs more protection, there is a good chance the Chiefs allow Jarran Reed to test the open market. If there is a player that Ryan Poles needs to get from the Chiefs at this very moment, it would be Reed, given his history of playing in a 4-3.

Mecole Hardman would be a good fit, but Chicago would have to trade for him, and right now, we are focusing on the free-agent market.

This is about rebuilding the line of scrimmage, and given what the Bears looked like last season and what they will transition to, it is vital that they stack both the offensive and defensive line with everything they have.

Super Bowl LV was an example of the line of scrimmage play dictating the game. Super Bowl LVI could produce the same result.

In the 2018 season, Reed had a breakout year with 10.5 sacks, and though his sack totals may not be cream of the crop, he is still an efficient player when on the field. Reed totaled two forced fumbles, 2.5 sacks, and 23 solo tackles this past season.

Is he going to command top dollar? Nope. But is he what the Bears are looking for. You better believe it.
