Disappointing NFL team #2. Green Bay Packers (13-5)

They finished tied with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the best record in the league in 2021. They were the NFC’s top seed in the playoffs for the second straight year. They were the only team in the NFL to finish unbeaten at home.

And when it was all said and done, the Packers laid an egg at Lambeau Field. The Green Bay defense did not allow an offensive touchdown in the NFC divisional round vs. the wild card San Francisco 49ers. And once again, Matt LaFleur’s team came up short of reaching the Super Bowl again.

Veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers once again put up solid numbers. He and wide receiver Davante Adams continued their impressive rapport. But Green Bay’s offense was stagnant at times and the offensive line was a season-long issue due to injuries.

Defensively, the unit made some strides under new coordinator Joe Barry. The Packers came up with 26 takeaways, eight more than in 2020. But this group showed it still could be pushed around by the better offensive fronts in the league.

LaFleur’s club is the only team on this list that made the playoffs in 2021. But their departure was so sudden and shocking that the Pack warranted this ranking.
