NFL head coach hires: Brian Daboll, New York Giants

What a great hire for the New York Football Giants.

Joe Judge was clearly in over his head, and the Giants decided to double up from Buffalo, hiring Joe Schoen as GM, who was Brandon Beane’s second-hand man, and Brian Daboll, the architect of the Bills’ offense.

Daboll is largely credited with developing Josh Allen, who was historically bad in his first season, into an MVP candidate.

Daboll is apparently being tasked with trying to save Daniel Jones, and he has decent weapons at his disposal, like Saquon Barkley, Kadarius Toney, Kenny Golladay, and Kyle Rudolph.

I think this was a smart hire from the Giants.  Brian Daboll has a ton of coaching experience and has palpable success developing a quarterback.

It remains to be seen if the Giants are genuinely sold on Daniel Jones, but either way, Daboll is poised to fix their offense, which is sorely lacking in production.  The Giants’ defense is solid, and as long as they don’t bottom out, the Giants should become a respectable team in 2023 or 2024.
