2022 NFL Free Agency Offense – Wide receivers

Wide receiver, Chris Godwin

Chris Godwin is set to cash in during free agency.  The current Tampa Bay Buccaneer enjoyed 1,000-yard seasons in 2019 and 2021 as the second option to Mike Evans.  Look for Godwin to become the top target in his new destination.

He tore his ACL late in the 2021 season, but I don’t think that will prevent a team from giving Godwin a large contract.  Look for a team like the Raiders or Colts to try and sign Godwin away from Tampa.

Wide receiver, JuJu Smith-Schuster

Smith-Schuster is still just 25 years old and has a lot of football left in him.  I was thinking about including someone like Mike Williams in here as a true X receiver, but JuJu and Godwin form a solid young tandem of pass catchers.

Teams will have to consider if they are willing to deal with Smith-Schuster’s diva-ish personality.  He can produce very well on the field, so perhaps teams won’t pay much attention to his off-the-field shenanigans and Tik Toks.
