Aaron Rodgers trade piece No. 3: Bradley Chubb, EDGE

Injuries cost Za’Darius Smith of the Green Bay Packers all but one game in 2021. This ended a two-season stretch where he had double-digit sacks as the former Baltimore Raven had 13.5 in his first season with the Packers and another 12.5 this past year.

Smith now enters the final season of a four-year deal he signed ahead of the 2019 campaign but there are some question marks due to the injury as well as the fact that he’s about to turn 30. He could still have a lot to offer but the Packers aren’t likely to give him a deal beyond his current one, instead looking to get younger on the edge again.

That’s where Bradley Chubb comes in. A former first-round pick back in 2018, Chubb has 144 tackles and 20.5 sacks for Denver. The problem is, he too has had some injury concerns and his have been more pronounced than Smith who has only struggled with health this past season.

Chubb missed 12 games in 2019 as well as 10 this past season. Having said that, he’s very disruptive when he is on the field and is also still playing on a rookie deal. Throwing his name around in the trade talks could help the Broncos seal the deal and bring Aaron Rodgers to the Mile High City.
