Cleveland Browns WR trade target No. 2: Calvin Ridley
A former first-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons, Calvin Ridley put up three very impressive seasons from 2018 through 2020 including a 1,374-yard campaign in 2020. But then in 2021, he had just 281 yards in five games before stepping away to address mental health concerns.
It appears he does want to return to the game but there are reports that he and the team could both be looking for a fresh start. If that’s the case, the Browns are a team that should be calling to see what it would take to land Ridley.
And for what it’s worth, Mary Kay Cabot — who covers the Browns — thinks it would be a great place for Ridley to come in and not only succeed on the field but have the support he needs off it as well.
"“The Browns have been a safe landing spot for several players who need some understanding and a good support system, including Ridley’s former Falcons teammate Takk McKinley and defensive tackle Malik McDowell. If they do their due diligence and determine that Ridley is truly ready for a return to the game, it would be worth exploring.” — Cabot, Cleveland.com"
Ridley’s route-running and clean hands are exactly what this Cleveland offense needs and it could be a great match for player and team should such a pairing take place.
