4. Kansas City Chiefs NFL Draft target: Boye Mafe, Edge, Minnesota

Boye Mafe was a wrecking ball who earned himself the National Team MVP award. Mafe followed up a great week of practice with a multiple sack game that should have put his name on more team’s radars. He’s a freakish athlete who expects to run, jump and bench well at the 2022 NFL Combine. He’s shown athletic traits a great first step, and high motor teams want in a primer edge rusher.

Because of his Senior Bowl performance, Mafe could hear his name called on Day 2 of the 2022 NFL Draft. Who knows, if there’s a run on edge rushers, he could go even higher. A team that should have Mafe on their radar is the Kansas City Chiefs.

Melvin Ingram was a veteran whose presence was supposed to help bolster their front seven — he’s a free agent.

They need a dynamic edge rusher who can come on passing downs. If they bring back Ingram, Mafe can learn from the seasoned vet. Steve Spagnuolo will get the best out of Mafe.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he got 10 sacks in his rookie season with the Chiefs. Mafe is a Day 2 high-ceiling prospect who should hear his name called on Day 1 after what he did at the Senior Bowl.
