3. Philadelphia Eagles NFL Draft target:  Jalen Pitre, S, Baylor

Going into the Senior Bowl, you’d think Baylor’s safety, Jalen Pitre would have a little more hype. Unfortunately, a lot of people slept on the 6-0 nearly 200-pound safety. He probably didn’t get a ton of love because of the misconception that he was a box safety. The former Bear lined up as a hybrid outside linebacker where he racked up 135 tackles, 29.5 tackles for loss, and six sacks the last two seasons.

However, the senior prospect showed he’s capable of much more. The Senior Bowl gave scouts a glimpse at Pitre’s hip fluidity and ability to play man coverage. He shined in one-on-one situations, showing off his ability to transition in space.

For a team looking for a guy who can cover big slots and play in the box, Pitre is that guy.

The AP First Team All-American and the Eagles are a perfect match. Anthony Harris is a free agent, and the Eagles can use a guy who can play run support against tight ends. Jonathan Gannon’s bend don’t break defensive style moves a lot of guys around — Pitre will fit right in.

He’s an early Day 3 prospect on most boards, but he should be a Top 50 selection.
