2022 NFL Mock Draft, 3rd-round Comp Picks
97. Detroit Lions: Damarri Mathis, S, Pitt
Continuing to build up their defense, the Lions kick off the compensatory selections with Demarri Mathis from Pitt. The 5-11, 195-pound safety played in the slot and has experience at corner. He should be another solid contributor in a defense that could be vastly improved.
98. Cleveland Browns: Tyler Davis, DT, Clemson
Malik Jackson was a decent one-year rental whereas Malik McDowell was an excellent redemption story until he no longer was. With a need at the position, the Browns add Tyler Davis from Clemson with their comp pick. Davis will compete with Jordan Elliott and Tommy Togiai for snaps and could earn a lot even as a rookie.
99. Baltimore Ravens: Alec Lindstrom, IOL, Boston College
More offensive help for the Ravens as they add Alec Lindstrom here, the younger brother of Atlanta guard Chris Lindstrom.
100. New Orleans Saints: Sterling Weatherford, S, Miami
Sterling Weatherford is an intriguing prospect as he stands in at 6-foot-4 and 221-pounds and has four picks in his career. New Orleans uses a comp pick on him, seeing if they can find a diamond in the rough.
101. Miami Dolphins (via San Francisco 49ers): Breece Hall, RB, Iowa State
One thing Mike McDaniel understands is how to get the most out of his running backs. He’s been on several teams that have put up elite rushing numbers, even if they didn’t always have elite talent at the position.
In Miami, he will surely do the same but they do need more talent than they have currently. Enter Breece Hall from Iowa State who is one of the best running backs in this class. He’s a healthy 220-pounds and can carry the load in an offense that will likely lean on the ground game.
102. Kansas City Chiefs: Damone Clark, LB, LSU
Anthony Hitchens could be on the way out and if so, the Chiefs need more depth at linebacker. LSU has produced a lot of talent at the position and they hope to find a good one in Damone Clark.
103. Los Angeles Rams: Brandon Joseph, S, Northwestern
The final comp pick belongs to the Rams, who are not used to actually having picks. They do end up with a good one though as Brandon Joseph from Northwestern falls to them here.
