Philadelphia builds up their defense with back-to-back picks in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft

Scouting Report. EDGE. Purdue. George Karlaftis. 15. Pick Analysis. player. 54

15. Philadelphia Eagles (via Miami Dolphins): George Karlaftis, DE, Purdue

This is the part of the 2022 NFL Draft where the Philadelphia Eagles can take over as they have three selections in the next five picks. This first one is courtesy of the Miami Dolphins as the two teams moved around before the 2021 NFL Draft with Philly landing an extra pick from the Dolphins for their trouble.

Their selection here is Purdue defensive end George Karlaftis who has an immense ceiling. For the Eagles, they seem to be ready to move on from Derek Barnett who has not lived up to his potential, and turning to Karlaftis could be exactly what they need.

LB. Nakobe Dean. 16. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Georgia. player. 54

16. Philadelphia Eagles (via Indianapolis Colts): Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia

Philly traded their former franchise quarterback to the Indianapolis Colts and when Carson Wentz managed to play the whole season, it meant they had to surrender their first pick to the Eagles. Here, they use that selection to bolster their linebacking corps as they bring in Nakobe Dean from Georgia.

A playmaker who blew up during the Bulldogs’ title run, Dean should have no problem making the same type of huge plays at the next level — especially if the defensive line in front of him starts to improve, which should happen with the selection that took place just before this.
